Jes Huber
Guest Teacher
Jessica Huber (Spring Grove, IL) first began her dance training in Lambertville, MI before attending Laura Coté School of Dance in Wilmot, WI. She was a competitive dancer, winning numerous awards and scholarships and began choreographing before graduating high school. She continued to expand her training with Midwest Dance Collective, a pre-professional program, that allows dancers to experience concert performances and scholarship opportunities. There she was able to perform works by Paige Cunningham-Caldarella, Cesar Salinas, Sarah Ford, Debra Nanni and director, Ellen Werksman.

In 2016 Jessica was accepted into the Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA where she furthered her dance training with a concentration in Modern. During her time there she performed works by Stefanie Batten Bland, Mark Morris, and Kiesha Lalama. Judith Leifer-Bentz played an essential role in Jessica’s training as her Graham technique teacher, rehearsal director, and composition instructor. While in dance composition, Judith exposed new ideas in exploring the choreographic process. This allowed Jessica to develop an interest in starting her own choreographic journey.
In 2018 Jessica returned to Spring Grove, IL to begin teaching technique classes and choreographing for dance competitions. She began teaching for Laura Coté School of Dance and Artistic Edge Dance Centre, Hartford, WI while traveling to out-of-state studios, colleges, and summer intensives sharing her knowledge of Jazz, Contemporary and Modern dance. She was nominated in 2020 for Best Contemporary Dance and again in 2022 for Best Choreography at the Industry Dance Awards. Jessica continues her training with summer intensives at the Martha Graham company as well as studying the Godfrey Method. The dancers are the motivation and vision behind her creativity and her goal is to inspire others to develop their own uniqueness as an artist and how to adapt when their goals may change.
